Polaroid has announced a brand new digital camera, the Snap, which brings it back to its analog roots, printing immediately and in full color, and all without ink.

Their fresh release employes an SD slot that can hold up to 32 gigabytes and features a built-in inkless ‘printer’ (details below) co-developed with ZINK (Zero Ink) and using their printing technology.

Effectively, the paper already has the colors in it, with cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals covered by a protective polymer overcoat. Heat activates these latent colors on demand.

The prints are 2 inches by 3 inches (wallet sized) and the camera body comes in red, blue, black and white. It will be coming out before Christmas and sell for just $99. Tapping into that classic functionality of original Polaroids as well as the give-to-to-me-now generation of instant gratification, this is sure to be a holiday gift hit for all ages.

Where’s Wallet from designer Daniel Eckler is a simple, attractive wallet that contains a secret: an integrated sensor that, when synced with an app on the user’s phone, keeps track of the wallet’s whereabouts.

Users can set a distance range they feel comfortable with; if their wallet travels outside of this perimeter, the app will send a notification along with Where’s Wallet’s last known location.

Even more helpful for the incredibly forgetful among us is an audio tracking function that guides you to wherever you put down your wallet (like in the pocket of the jacket you wore last night instead of on your dresser). Activate the search function from the app and the wallet lets out an audible ping to guide you right to it. Handy for those mornings when you just can’t seem to open your eyes enough to gather all of your stuff.

Where’s Wallet comes in an ultra-streamlined slip style to hold just a few cards; bi-fold design for carrying a bit more; and clutch style for even more space. All styles are made from a beautiful vegetable-tanned leather that develops a distinctive and lovely distressed look as it ages.

The Living Wallet is a sweet little gadget that can help all of us get our spending under control. The smart wallet is linked to your iPhone and a bookkeeping app called Zaim.

When your financial situation is unfavorable and you have no business spending money, the wallet runs away from your grasping hands. If you ignore that warning and catch it, the wallet will yell for help and tell you to put it down. But if those evasive measures don’t work, the app pulls out a really dirty move: it calls your mom to tell on you.

On the other hand, when your financial situation allows you to spend a little more money, the wallet actually encourages you to make purchases. In fact, it kind of entices you to spend. It plays classical music, worms its way over to you and speaks out the names of Amazon products. Maybe it’s not the best money-saving plan, but it sure is adorable. No word on if this is being produced for purchase or if it’s just a novelty idea meant to entertain.

Did you know that most identity theft happens due to lost wallets or credit cards? The Ping* Wallet is a smart device that can tell you when a card falls out, when you forget to put a card back in your wallet, or even when your wallet is stolen.

Ping* is a Bluetooth-equipped aluminum case that links to your phone to help keep your information safe. When you take a card out of the wallet and fail to return it after a certain period of time, the wallet emits a sound to alert you. A built-in speaker alerts you if the wallet suddenly loses connection with your phone – whether it’s the phone or the wallet that has been pilfered.

If you happen to leave it somewhere, the Ping* can emit a sound to lead to you right to it – as long as you’re within 100 feet of it. This feature would be especially helpful for forgetful people who can never seem to get everything together in the morning. If a card is lost or stolen, the app will even tell you the last place you used it.

Despite all of its features, the Ping* is a mere 3 millimeters thick, or about the thickness of four stacked credit cards. It can hold 10 credit cards and a stack of cash comfortably in its aluminum and elastic embrace. Its electronic “brain” is tiny and flat and contains a battery that lasts for up to two years on a single charge.

Although there are probably millions of interesting iPhone cases and covers out there, most of them have started to look the same by now. It takes something pretty special to get our attention these days. The BookBook for iPhone 4 is awesome enough to make us take a closer look. It’s made by the same people who made the book disguise cover for the MacBook, which is equally awesome.

The iPhone version of the BookBook is, of course, much smaller than the original. It looks like a tiny pocket version of a classic book – a well-loved tome that you carry everywhere. But the illusion will be broken the moment your book rings and you flip the cover around to answer it.

The cover also conveniently holds your ID and credit cards so that you only have to grab your phone case and keys when you run out of the house in the morning. Not everyone likes having all of their important stuff in one place, but when that place looks this awesome it’s kind of worth it. If there is one design flaw, it’s the fact that the ID pocket and credit cards are exposed to the world when the case is opened up to make or take phone calls.
