    <p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29759" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/flaming-shishcabob-sword-fallout-468x312.jpg" alt="flaming shishcabob sword fallout" width="468" height="312" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/flaming-shishcabob-sword-fallout-468x312.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/flaming-shishcabob-sword-fallout.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>While many players of the freshly-released Fallout 4 video game, set in post-apocalyptic Boston, are no doubt still wandering the digital wastelands, one creative fan has created a real working version of one favorite weapon: the flaming Shishkebab sword.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29758" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/falloutsword-468x262.gif" alt="falloutsword" width="468" height="262" /></p>
<p>Game users can find this wonderful toy or make a do-it-yourself version from lawnmower, motorcycle and other scrapped parts. Like the virtual version, the real deal can be set aflame as shown in the video below.</p>
<!--YouTube Error: bad URL entered-->
<p><a href="http://makezine.com/author/calebkkraft/">Caleb Craft</a> posted his work to Make, basing it on the game as well as concept art created by its makers. &#8220;There was one weapon in particular from the Fallout video game series that caught my eye. It was a flaming sword called a shishkebab.&#8221;</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29757" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/sword-model-468x270.jpg" alt="sword model" width="468" height="270" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/sword-model-468x270.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/sword-model.jpg 620w" sizes="(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>&#8220;Fashioned out of hammered lawnmower blades, a gas tank from a motorcycle, and other miscellaneous parts, this thing will ignite any monster you slash. I thought it would be a really fun build.&#8221;</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/fallout-irl-game-fan-creates-real-flaming-sword-of-scrap/">Fallout IRL: Game Fan Creates Real Flaming Sword of Scrap</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p>This small, single-seat submarine can dive to a depth of 30 feet, but the best part: its creation cost just a thousand dollars, and its inventor, Justin Beckerman, built it while still in high school &#8211; design to build: 6 months.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-28027" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-sub-floating-landing-468x312.jpg" alt="diy sub floating landing" width="468" height="312" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-sub-floating-landing-468x312.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-sub-floating-landing.jpg 728w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Should you want to build your own do-it-yourself equivalent, you will need a drainpipe, white ballast tanks, regulators and valves (obtainable from an old soda machine) and three battery systems</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-28029" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-submarine-cockpit-468x342.jpg" alt="diy submarine cockpit" width="468" height="342" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-submarine-cockpit-468x342.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-submarine-cockpit.jpg 727w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>For fun, like this inventor has, you can add a horn, radio and ultra-bright strobe lights &#8211; it gets dark quickly as you get past a dozen or so feet down. It turns out you can get the job done for around a thousand dollars, just be sure to use lots of marine-grade waterproof glue to keep things air-tight.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-28028" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-sub-in-water-468x369.jpg" alt="diy sub in water" width="468" height="369" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-sub-in-water-468x369.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/diy-sub-in-water.jpg 728w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>A New Jersey native, Beckerman is not new to the realm of investing, having developed a car-cleaning device at age 12 and a video-watching helmet at age 14. He has also built various geeky art projects out of old pieces of technology along the way, scraps not put to more practical purposes, like, say, a submarine. Needless to say, the young inventor plans on majoring in engineering in college.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/18-year-old-builds-diy-submarine-from-drainpipe-for-1k/">18-Year-Old Builds DIY Submarine from Drainpipe for $1K</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p>Geeky parents have been known to do some pretty great things for their kids. From staying up late playing video games together to getting awesome custom-made toys, kids of geeks have it made.</p>
<!--YouTube Error: bad URL entered-->
<p>YouTuber &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/videopapa">VideoPapa</a>&#8221; made this crazy-fun hovercraft for his son. He doesn&#8217;t give a lot of information about its construction, but he does say it&#8217;s made from polystyrene insulation board, and it seems to sport a small blower motor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-25855" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/rope-steered-homemade-hovercraft.jpg" alt="rope-steered homemade hovercraft" width="468" height="230" /></p>
<p>The homemade hovercraft doesn&#8217;t have a propulsion or steering system; rather, VideoPapa uses a string to steer the craft as he runs up and down the street.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-25854" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/fun-homemade-hovercraft.jpg" alt="fun homemade hovercraft" width="468" height="315" /></p>
<p>If you wonder whether a simple home-brewed hovercraft could possibly be any fun, just listen to the laughs and squeals of the little passenger in the video. Sadly, it would probably take a much larger motor to levitate a grown-up.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/cool-dad-made-a-working-hovercraft-from-household-stuff/">Cool Dad Made a Working Hovercraft From Household Stuff</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p><!--wsa:gooold-->When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When life gives you an apartment with no air conditioning, you grab some supplies and make your own air conditioner. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/trikenitdotcom/sets/571367/">A clever Flickr user</a> did just that and documented his project with annotated pictures.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3145" title="homemade air conditioner" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/homemade-air-conditioner.jpg" alt="homemade air conditioner" width="468" height="652" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/homemade-air-conditioner.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/homemade-air-conditioner-215x300.jpg 215w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Starting off with a regular oscillating tabletop fan, he wrapped copper tubing in a spiral around the front and back of the fan. Flexible plastic tubing connects the copper coils to the reservoir below so that the fan can still oscillate.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3146" title="use a fan as an air conditioner" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/use-a-fan-as-an-air-conditioner.jpg" alt="use a fan as an air conditioner" width="468" height="611" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/use-a-fan-as-an-air-conditioner.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/use-a-fan-as-an-air-conditioner-229x300.jpg 229w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Fish tank pumps cycle cold water up, through the coils, and back down. When the fan blows across the cold tubes, it creates a gust of chilly air in the room. There&#8217;s no mention of the cost involved, but this looks to be a relatively simple and inexpensive solution for homes that can&#8217;t take the electrical load of a window air conditioner. Just be careful if you try this &#8211; or any other hack involving electricity (especially electricity near water) at home.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/coolest-hack-ever-cool-water-pipes-fan-diy-ac/">Coolest Hack Ever?
