Oh, west coast…you have the weirdest people. One of them created Sue, the 12-foot-long, 8.5-foot-tall art bike in the shape of a juvenile T.Rex. Thankfully for the rest of the world, that genius (that’s not sarcasm – this bike engineer is an actual genius) has decided to find a new home for Sue for the low price of $2,000.

Sue’s actual skeleton is made of chromoly steel and covered in foam and textured paint. The seat sits a hefty five feet off of the ground, so you need a stepladder to get on – but if you’re out in the wilderness with no help up, the bike’s builder hid hand and foot holds in the skeleton’s left side.

Once you’re safely in the seat, you can speed along up to 15 mph, but the trike’s comfortable cruising speed is around 7 mph. The huge moving sculpture tends to attract a whole lot of attention, so Sue’s creator suggests only taking her out if you’re interested in having adoring throngs of fans surround you at all times.

Maybe the best thing about Sue, other than the fact that she’s a huge rolling dino skeleton, is that her head and arms can be moved by her driver. Sue can gnash her teeth, wave, and shake her head- and unlike the dinos in the Jurassic World movie, she’s remarkably well-behaved.

If you had the choice between riding a regular bike to work and rolling up on the back of a dinosaur, you’d choose the dinosaur, right? Norwegian artist Markus Moestue did, and it turned into something completely awesome.

Starting with three bikes and welding them together, Moestue used styrofoam, a regular kitchen knife, and some serious carving skills to create his prehistoric ride.

After the body of the raptor-like dino was created, the artist covered it with epoxy glue and fiberglass coating. He painted it a fierce red-mottled orange and gave it creepy yellow eyes, sharp teeth, and a wicked tongue.

At that point, the dino became a mobile sculpture when Moestue attached it to his welded-together Frankenbike with two front wheels and one in back. The bike’s saddle and handlebars sit between the raptor’s front half and rear half.

Moestue created the raptor ride and cycled across Norway on it to protest the “dogmatic religious education of children” in which kids are taught that humans and dinosaurs once lived together.

This incredible carved wooden motorcycle is what happens when an exceptionally skilled carpenter runs low on work and needs a project to keep him busy.

Russian carpenter Yuri Hvtisishvili was looking for something to occupy his time during a period when work was slow. His passion for Soviet motorcycles led him to decide on carving a full-scale model of one.

Hvtisishvili’s motorcycle of choice was the legendary IL-49, which he chose partially because of its distinctive seat and gas tank.

Using only beech and pine, Hvtisishvili made every part of the motorcycle – including the bolts and other tiny details – from wood. He painstakingly recreated every last inch of the bike.

It took the master carpenter four months to complete this gorgeous carved motorcycle. After showing off this piece, we doubt Hvtisishvili has had any more trouble finding carpentry work.

Want to get the best possible bike-mounted view of LA? Richie Trimple’s Stoopid Tall 14.5 foot-tall bike will let you pedal your way around while looking down on everyone and everything in sight. The unique bike isn’t the easiest to balance on, and Trimple has to lean it against a building and climb up its insane frame just to sit on it. But once he gets going, the view from the top is totally incredible.

Stoopid Tall, the result of a friendly challenge, took around 12 hours to build. Frames, tubing and various parts were combined to create this monstrosity of a road bike. The bike’s chain consists of six standard chains together, equaling 32.5 feet of chain. After cobbling the bike together, he wasn’t sure that it would ride. But check out the video above and see just how awesome this Frankenstein’s monster of a bike really works.

We’ve seen people riding their bikes with ear buds firmly inserted in their ears, rendering them distracted and at a disadvantage on city streets. The Feats Per Minute bike is a clever concept that lets cyclists play music while they ride in the most stylish and adorable way possible.

The bike was designed by a team of Dutch designers who wanted to turn the simple act of riding a bicycle into an exploration of music. They spent a month designing and building the bike, finding out along the way that it was even harder than they expected. Using two vertical record players, the team assembled one of the most inventive bikes ever.

In addition to the records, the bike features a megaphone-type speaker jutting out from the back. The needle that plays the record hardly ever skips, but the trick to riding the bike and getting it to play beautiful music is to pedal at a moderate and steady rate.
