<p>Bridging the gap between classic calendars and high-tech displays, this paper-like system lets you see your days, weeks and months in a conventional fashion while being tied into a high-tech system. Japanese traditions of painting, calligraphy and demure decor have given rise to the Magic Calendar from Japanese Android Experiments, something that lets a new-fangled interface look classic and familiar for users.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-31246" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/magic-cal-468x261.jpg" alt="magic cal" width="468" height="261" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/magic-cal-468x261.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/magic-cal.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>It appears like a paper calendar on your wall, but in reality it syncs with your Google Calendar account, updating itself as your appointments and meetings change over time. Thanks to e-paper, it can be synced but look static at any given time, giving you the dynamic information of a smartphone schedule in a comfortable and traditional format. The use of e-ink also reduces the energy requirements of the calendar. Of course, formats can also be edited thanks to the device&#8217;s flexibility.</p>
<!--YouTube Error: bad URL entered-->
<p>&#8220;Why, though, go to the trouble of having this wall calendar? If the focus is on keeping track of dates and events, then your smartphone or laptop carries the information you need. The question, actually, can be turned around to why not.<br />
Neither would you need a painting or hanging tapestry to get through the day but they are quite nice. So is the e-ink display. bringing numbers to life on the wall, drawing in family members to dates that impact their routines.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I think that as technology development progresses and these types of products are developed, the boundary between analog and digital things will disappear,&#8221; says its inventor. &#8220;Interestingly, many comments from those hearing about the calendar have been overwhelmingly positive: Shut up and take my money just about summed up the positive reactions.&#8221; It is, pardon the wordplay, a pretty magic cal.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/magic-calendar-e-ink-displays-look-just-like-normal-paper/">Magic Calendar: E-Ink Displays Look Just Like Normal Paper</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

    <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-31209" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/zoom-enhance-468x263.jpg" alt="zoom enhance" width="468" height="263" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/zoom-enhance-468x263.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/zoom-enhance-768x432.jpg 768w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/zoom-enhance-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/zoom-enhance.jpg 1280w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>A wonderful way to keep kids interested in the outside world rather than glued to a small screen on road trips, this interactive window design lets riders zoom into passing landscapes, test vocabulary skills and make video games out of scenic surroundings. But you really need to see it to understand its potential, so take a look at the short video below:</p>
<!--YouTube Error: bad URL entered-->
<p>The core concept is simple: let windows appear simply transparent, then overlay a series of custom functions that can be adjusted to suit different needs and moods. A child (or adult, for that matter) can opt to label passing phenomena, or draw around animals, trees, houses and more while stopped (then let their work slide off the screen when the car starts up again). Video games can also be designed to incorporate elements creating all kinds of augmented reality possibilities.</p>
<!--YouTube Error: bad URL entered-->
<p>It can also be turned to purely functional purposes, making that &#8216;zoom and enhance&#8217; trick we are often fooled by on CSI shows into a real technique for looking closer at things around us. Screenshots can be captured, too &#8212; no more fumbling around for a camera while a cool sight passes you by.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-31208" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/alien-landing-468x257.png" alt="alien landing" width="468" height="257" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/alien-landing-468x257.png 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/alien-landing.png 520w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Companies like Taptl are adapting the same technologies for boats and other luxury vehicles, but as with anything: what starts out expensive will only get cheaper and more accessible with time. And as vehicles go driverless, these could end up transforming how we view and use front windows, too.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/touchscreen-car-windows-turn-back-back-seat-views-into-interactive-games/">Touchscreen Car Windows Turn Back Back-Seat Views into Interactive Games</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

    <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-30920 size-medium" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-device-468x281.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="281" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-device-468x281.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-device.jpg 636w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>A semi-automatic way to save yourself from a skyscraper disaster, this belaying backpack works automatically to lower you speedily but safely down the side of a structure on fire or otherwise posing live-threatening dangers.</p>
<!--YouTube Error: bad URL entered-->
<p>The <a href="https://skysaver.com/">SkySaver</a> hooks onto a pre-installed attachment sunk into your wall, floor or ceiling. The bag portion clips quickly around your torso, while the line starts letting you down as you exit a window.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-30922" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-push-468x293.jpg" alt="skysaver push" width="468" height="293" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-push-468x293.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-push.jpg 563w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Users have very little to do in the operation of the device &#8211; mainly, they just need to push themselves away from the building and let the unspooling rope do the rest of the work, pacing their way down the side.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-30921" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-backpack-468x246.jpg" alt="skysaver backpack" width="468" height="246" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-backpack-468x246.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/skysaver-backpack.jpg 601w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>All seriousness aside, this seems like a fantastic way to amuse oneself either recreationally or as a last-day-of work exist from a building to which you never plan to return.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/skysaver-rescue-backpack-lets-you-repel-down-buildings/">SkySaver: Rescue Backpack Lets You Rappel Down Buildings</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>
