<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a way to draw people&#8217;s eyes excitedly toward your crotch, this might be just what you need. The <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/60537263/playtime-belt-buckle">Playtime Belt</a> Buckle from Etsy seller if Industries is a fully-functional tiny Etch-A-Sketch attached to a custom copper belt buckle base.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-18323" title="playtime belt buckle" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/playtime-belt-buckle.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="351" /></p>
<p>The functional belt buckle lets friends, well-wishers and total strangers fiddle with the little knobs just centimeters from your junk. Presumably, you could wear the belt upside down so you could play with the drawing toy yourself.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-18322" title="custom etch a sketch belt buckle" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/custom-etch-a-sketch-belt-buckle.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="417" /></p>
<p>Although the original from if Industries has already sold, maybe the idea can provide some inspiration to brave DIYers. The silly (but completely awesome) belt buckle could probably even be made with other miniature interactive toys.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/attention-draw-fully-functional-etch-a-sketch-belt-buckle/">Attention Draw: Fully Functional Etch-A-Sketch Belt Buckle</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p><!--wsa:gooold-->Steampunk mods are a dime a dozen these days, but it&#8217;s rare to see one that actually makes us want to pick it up and play with it. This Gameboy case mod from customizer extraordinaire <a href="http://thretris.blogspot.com/2010/01/steampunk-style-gameboy.html">Thretris</a> is beautiful, well-done and oh-so-begging for us to plug in a cartridge and start playing.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-3952" title="crazy steampunk gameboy mod" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/crazy-steampunk-gameboy-mod.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="305" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/crazy-steampunk-gameboy-mod.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/crazy-steampunk-gameboy-mod-300x195.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>The entire case has been painted in a lustrous distressed gold and adorned with gears, springs and tubes to heighten the Victorian feel. The red LED has been switched out for an orange one, and it even boasts a <a href="http://lowgain-audio.com/GBclassicmod.htm">pro sound mod</a> to make the sound output louder.</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="468" height="295" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wMVHrwJbihY&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /></object></p>
<p>Thretris says this mod took him about a week to complete, and judging from the way he touches it in the above video, he&#8217;s pretty fond of it. According to his website he may even consider selling it, so if you&#8217;re in the market for the awesomest steampunk gadget we&#8217;ve ever seen, hop on <a href="http://thretris.blogspot.com/2010/01/steampunk-style-gameboy.html">over there</a> &#8211; or take a look at <a href="http://thretris.deviantart.com/art/STEAMPUNK-GAMEBOY-150955918">his gallery</a> and see if you can figure out how to make one of your own.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/nintendo-goes-steampunk-awesome-gameboy-case-mod/">Nintendo Goes Steampunk: Awesome Gameboy Case Mod</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

    <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2946" title="DDM divided display module computer" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/DDM-divided-display-module-computer.jpg" alt="DDM divided display module computer" width="468" height="352" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/DDM-divided-display-module-computer.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/DDM-divided-display-module-computer-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p><!--wsa:gooold-->With so many of our gadgets getting smaller and more portable, we find ourselves docking, syncing and charging several items every time we come home. What if the docking and sharing of information were a little easier? <a href="http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/05/26/beautiful-and-original-product-designs/">This concept</a> hinges on the idea of making the PC and mobile gadgets more cohesive while still allowing for a large degree of flexibility and portability.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2944" title="Divided Display Module" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Divided-Display-Module.jpg" alt="Divided Display Module" width="468" height="351" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Divided-Display-Module.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Divided-Display-Module-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>The DDM PC (Divided Display Module) acts as a normal desktop PC when you&#8217;re home. But when you&#8217;re out and about, you detach part of the display from the base. The detached part more or less becomes its own handheld device with its own amount of storage that can be used to access music, contacts, books and games. The remaining parts of the DDM can still be used with the base as a home computer.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2945" title="divided display module dividing computer" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/divided-display-module-dividing-computer.jpg" alt="divided display module dividing computer" width="468" height="351" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/divided-display-module-dividing-computer.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/divided-display-module-dividing-computer-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Two or more DDM pieces would be able to attach, so if you run into a friend and want to share some music with them you simply connect your DDM to theirs. The entire concept seems futuristic yet entirely possible. We really hope to see these become a reality soon, especially since the charging iPods, cell phones and handheld gaming systems are starting to take up way too much room.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/split-personalities-computer-divides-into-mobile-devices/">Split Personalities: Computer Divides Into Mobile Devices</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p><!--wsa:gooold-->How many times have you thrown yourself on the floor, crying and lamenting the loss of a beloved Gameboy? Well, get up and dust yourself off, cowboy, because some ingenious creature over on the <a href="http://www.logic-sunrise.com/news-38109-exclusif-ls-une-gameboy-de-80gb.html">Logic-Sunrise</a> forums has posted a pretty fantastic DIY project: he took the guts out of an old Gameboy and stuffed in an 80GB hard drive, leaving all of the classic clunky aesthetics of the Gameboy intact. The user, known only as<a href="http://www.logic-sunrise.com/forums/user/495-n3o/"> _n30_</a>, was nice enough to communicate with <a href="http://hackaday.com/2009/09/08/update-game-boy-hdd-the-guts/">Hack a Day</a> to give some additional pictures and details about the mod.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1813" title="gameboy hard drive mod innards" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/gameboy-hard-drive-mod-innards.jpg" alt="gameboy hard drive mod innards" width="468" height="524" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/gameboy-hard-drive-mod-innards.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/gameboy-hard-drive-mod-innards-267x300.jpg 267w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>While it may look like the case is still able to play games, that&#8217;s just a cleverly printed graphic in the window, not a game screen. But the modder moved the hard drive&#8217;s LED up to the battery light position to make it look more realistic, a detail which helps to preserve the illusion that it&#8217;s a working Gameboy.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1815" title="inside of gameboy hard drive mod" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/inside-of-gameboy-hard-drive-mod.jpg" alt="inside of gameboy hard drive mod" width="468" height="351" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/inside-of-gameboy-hard-drive-mod.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/inside-of-gameboy-hard-drive-mod-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>In fact, all of the details of the case&#8217;s original function that could be preserved have been preserved in the interest of making this awesome little hard drive look like a functional hand-held game. The control buttons are non-functional but still in place, and even the volume control wheel was glued back into place after the hard drive had been placed inside. The whole case is so realistic that plenty of people looking at the pictures have actually mistaken it for a working Gameboy, a testament to its genius.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/introducing-storageboy-awesome-diy-hard-drive-hack/">Introducing StorageBoy: Awesome DIY Hard Drive Hack</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>
