Wooden iPhone Case is a Throwback to an Imagined Past

There was once an episode of Futurama where Bender decided that he didn’t want to be part of the technology stream anymore. He was a castaway on an island of obsolete robots and ended up trading in his metal body for a rustic wooden one, even though his insides were still pretty technologically advanced. That’s exactly what we think of when we see this wooden iPhone case.

The case is designed to look like a camera that fits snugly around your iPhone 4. It’s lined with soft, cushiony felt so your expensive phone won’t get all scratched up. The camera motif on the outside? That’s all engraved with lasers, right into the walnut wood.

Although it might seem a little backwards to encase your shiny, futuristic mobile phone in low-tech wood, there’s a certain romantic feel to this case. Like you’re staying true to how it used to feel to take pictures with a real camera…or something like that. You can pick up your own for $42.
