<p>The Mi MIX by Xiaomi, a Chinese company, is a gorgeous realization of an age-old idea: making displays go right to the edge in order to maximize screen space with a minimalist aesthetic.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-31124" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/smartphone-screen-468x351.jpg" alt="smartphone-screen" width="468" height="351" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/smartphone-screen-468x351.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/smartphone-screen-768x576.jpg 768w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/smartphone-screen.jpg 818w" sizes="(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-31122" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/flat-top-468x293.jpg" alt="flat-top" width="468" height="293" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/flat-top-468x293.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/flat-top-768x481.jpg 768w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/flat-top.jpg 818w" sizes="(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Designed by Philippe Starck, this ceramic smartphone features a beveled chamfer, curved on each end, creating its unique appearance.</p>

<p>No edges and corners to content with, nor buttons to get in the way, the 6.4&#8243; display has a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio, record-setting for its device category.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-31121" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/ceramic-body-468x332.jpg" alt="ceramic-body" width="468" height="332" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/ceramic-body-468x332.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/ceramic-body-768x545.jpg 768w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/ceramic-body.jpg 818w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Seamless connectors fuse ‘Mi MIX’s body without any external adhesives. Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology replaces the traditional earpiece speaker, allowing users to listen to calls without the earpiece. Additionally, a compact front camera, about 50% smaller than traditional camera modules, is almost invisibly located along the device’s ‘chin’.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/full-screen-phone-record-setting-edgeless-display-design/">Full-Screen Phone: Record-Setting Edgeless Display Design</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p>Watch as LG reps curve and bend screens ranging from tiny to huge, sticking TVs to walls with magnets and contorting mobile displays well past what one expects to be their breaking point. The screens use thin-film transistor back planes to individually activate pixels on the screen, adding virtually no thickness to the construction.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29812" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/thinled-468x263.gif" alt="thinled" width="468" height="263" /></p>
<p>Next time you go to a friend&#8217;s house to watch a game, consider this: you may soon be able to roll up your big-screen television (or monitor), bring it along and attach it to their wall. The company is also developing batteries that bend &#8211; combining the technology could prove incredibly powerful for wearables and other portable devices.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29813" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/curved-led-panel-468x447.jpg" alt="curved led panel" width="468" height="447" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/curved-led-panel-468x447.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/curved-led-panel.jpg 640w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>LG also hit the news recently with their release of the world&#8217;s largest OLED panel screen (shown above), on display at the airport in Seoul, South Korea &#8211; the total display is made up of 140 curved pans, spanning 40 feet high and 25 feet across. According to Park Wan-su, president and CEO at Incheon International Airport, “These OLED displays perfectly complement the advanced technology that our airport has become known for. We are always eager to showcase to the millions of travelers every year the cutting-edge technology that originates from Korea. OLED is a prime example of that.”</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/bendable-screens-flexible-paper-thin-phone-tv-displays/">Bendable Screens: Flexible Paper-Thin Phone & TV Displays</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p>As devices get ever smaller the need to sacrifice functionality and screen size seems inevitable, but could be prevented by something that like this clever device that uses an external surface as both its display and interface.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-28255" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-maps-surface-interface-468x259.png" alt="wearable maps surface interface" width="468" height="259" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-maps-surface-interface-468x259.png 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-maps-surface-interface.png 721w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>

<!--YouTube Error: bad URL entered-->
<p>The <a href="http://cicret.com/wordpress/">Cicret Bracelet</a> is a wristband that turns your arm into a tablet, allowing you to use swipe, tap and pinch gestures along your own appendage instead of on a built-in screen. Naturally, it is possible to also use this device on either wrist for those who are left- or right-handed.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-28254" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-portable-gaming-468x260.png" alt="wearable portable gaming" width="468" height="260" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-portable-gaming-468x260.png 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-portable-gaming.png 721w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-28251" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-device-technology-guide-468x260.png" alt="wearable device technology guide" width="468" height="260" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-device-technology-guide-468x260.png 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/wearable-device-technology-guide.png 721w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>The tiny projector works in concert with a series of long-range proximity sensors and, while still being developed, is intended to come in multiple storage capacities, sizes and colors. Games, maps, phone calls, the device will do anything your current mobile gadget can.</p>
