<p>A rain jacket will only help bikers so much in a torrential downpour, leaving hands, forearms and legs largely exposed; thus, the &#8216;Boncho&#8217;, a shell that extends your sphere of warmth and dryness.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29958" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/bonchogif1-468x308.gif" alt="bonchogif" width="468" height="308" /></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29953" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/poncho-folding-process-468x469.jpg" alt="poncho folding process" width="468" height="469" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/poncho-folding-process-468x469.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/poncho-folding-process-150x150.jpg 150w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/poncho-folding-process.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Designed by <a href="http://vanmoof.com/">VANMOOF</a>, the Boncho is lightweight, waterproof, breathable and extends over your handlebars to help keep your entire body clear of falling rain, all supported by a folding frame.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29955" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rain-poncho-biker-diagram-468x296.jpg" alt="rain poncho biker diagram" width="468" height="296" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rain-poncho-biker-diagram-468x296.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rain-poncho-biker-diagram-1024x647.jpg 1024w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rain-poncho-biker-diagram.jpg 1580w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>The compact system is designed to be tucked away when not in use. Arguably it still missing a key source of road moisture: splashing from tires, yours or otherwise (though a fender can at least address the former).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29954" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/portable-compact-cyclist-poncho-468x280.jpg" alt="portable compact cyclist poncho" width="468" height="280" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/portable-compact-cyclist-poncho-468x280.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/portable-compact-cyclist-poncho.jpg 1020w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-29956" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rain-poncho-hands-468x274.jpg" alt="rain poncho hands" width="468" height="274" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rain-poncho-hands-468x274.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rain-poncho-hands-1024x600.jpg 1024w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rain-poncho-hands.jpg 1580w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>&#8220;BONCHO uses a unique folding structure, similar to pop up tents. The folding and unfolding is easy, making the package very small and thin, easy to carry inside almost every bag.&#8221;</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/boncho-extended-folding-rain-poncho-keeps-cyclists-dry/">Boncho: Extended Folding Rain Poncho Keeps Cyclists Dry</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p>Bringing the weather right to your tabletop, this incredible box simulates sunrise, sunset, clouds, rain and even thunderstorms based on real forecasts, letting you see expected conditions in a dazzling new way.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-28575" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/weather-indoor-clouds-468x351.jpg" alt="weather indoor clouds" width="468" height="351" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/weather-indoor-clouds-468x351.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/weather-indoor-clouds.jpg 950w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Designed by Ken Kawamoto, the <a href="http://www.tempescope.com/" target="_blank">Tempescope</a> puts a world&#8217;s worth of weather right in front of you, downloading details from the internet then recreating those effects inside a clear plastic box, including sunshine, fog or even the pulsing illumination of a lightning storm (as seen in the video below).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-28577" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/simulated-weather1-468x263.gif" alt="simulated weather" width="468" height="263" /></p>
<!--YouTube Error: bad URL entered-->
<p>The project is open source and interested parties are welcome to download the design schematics in order to create their own, or can wait for a crowdfunding campaign later this year to buy a unit instead. The deployment is also versatile &#8211; you can select your own city and time delay, reflecting either current conditions outside or near-future forecasts for wherever you want (letting you keep in touch with weather at home or in your favorite city).</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/temposcope-desktop-device-recreates-weather-forecast/">Temposcope: Desktop Device Recreates Weather Forecast</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

    <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-12688" title="raincatch-coat" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/raincatch-coat.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="351" /></p>
<p><!--wsa:gooold-->People have been collecting rainwater for the purpose of drinking it since time began, but this might be the first time that a raincoat has been used as an on-the-go collection device. The <a href="http://dvice.com/archives/2011/09/this-rain-coat.php">Raincatch rain coat</a> was designed by Hyeona Yang and Joshua Noble to provide clean drinking water to people without enough sense to come in from the rain.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/25973817?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0" width="468" height="263" frameborder="0"></iframe></p>
<p>The coat features a series of straws and attached filters along with some pockets for storing collected water. We aren&#8217;t sure if the designers have ever actually tried to collect rainwater, but unless there&#8217;s an absolute downpour happening the average person standing in the rain won&#8217;t collect a whole lot of water. Still, this is a novel design that makes good use of a natural resource.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/what-a-drip-coat-collects-purifies-rainwater-for-drinking/">What a Drip: Coat Collects + Purifies Rainwater for Drinking</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>
