    <p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-18601" title="tredalo water craft" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/tredalo-water-craft.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="312" /></p>
<p>One very brave guy recently decided to walk over 66 miles of sea in a human-sized hamster wheel. Chris Todd, the 35-year-old inventor of the <a href="http://www.adventurousdesign.co.uk/Tredalo.html">Tredalo</a>, took his kind of amazing vehicle out on the Irish Sea, leaving from Wales and planning to walk all the way to Dublin.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-18598" title="tredalo walking on water" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/tredalo-walking-on-water.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="312" /></p>
<p>The Tredalo is more or less a raft that is powered by the human(s) inside walking or running. The person or people inside hold onto a hand rail as they walk. The huge paddle wheel provides the forward thrust to move the whole vehicle over the water. The Tredalo is intended to be used on lakes and other calm waters as a leisure vehicle.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-18599" title="walking on water" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/walking-on-water.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="312" /></p>
<p>Todd, however, attempted to use it for a much more daring feat. Unfortunately, the Tredalo encountered waves much larger than anticipated and the rudders began to fail. The crew was unable to tow it back to shore and the Tredalo came to rest on the bottom of the sea.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-18600" title="tredalo water vehicle prototype" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/tredalo-water-vehicle-prototype.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="312" /></p>
<p>Under ordinary conditions, the Tredalo is much safer. It was designed to be stable even in rough conditions, and users can easily bail out if they encounter any serious problems. Todd is going to try to market the contraption to amusement parks as a unique ride, which we think is kind of a great idea.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/leg-powered-raft-lets-intrepid-travelers-walk-on-water/">Leg-Powered Raft Lets Intrepid Travelers Walk on Water</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p><!--wsa:gooold-->Getting stuck behind a car going super-slowly is frustrating under normal circumstances, but getting stuck behind a Porsche crawling along at 10 MPH? Well, that is just infuriating. Or at least it would be until you realize that the Porsche you&#8217;re stuck behind is no regular sports car: it is a pedal-powered Porsche 911 clone, affectionately dubbed the <a href="http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/01/the-poor-mans-pedal-powered-porsche/">Ferdinand GT3 RS</a>, or the World&#8217;s Slowest Porsche.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9858" title="pedal-powered-porsche-2" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/pedal-powered-porsche-2.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="351" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/pedal-powered-porsche-2.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/pedal-powered-porsche-2-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>Built by Austrian mastermind Hannes Langeder over the course of a year, the Porsche 911 look-alike is built on a skeleton of steel and plastic tubing. The foundation is covered with a skin of gold foil and packing tape, completely hiding the fact that the vehicle isn&#8217;t propelled by a powerful engine, but instead runs on Flintstones power: the leg muscles of the driver.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9857" title="pedal-powered-porsche-3" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/pedal-powered-porsche-3.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="293" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/pedal-powered-porsche-3.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/pedal-powered-porsche-3-300x187.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>The fake automobile cost about as much as an actual car to build (over $17,000) but weighs only less than 220 pounds. Granted, you probably won&#8217;t get as many dates in this contraption as you would in an actual Porsche&#8230;but you would be able to feel good about yourself knowing that you&#8217;re looking awesome while tooling around in an eco-friendly ride.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/worlds-slowest-porsche-a-shining-example-of-diy-diligence/">World’s Slowest Porsche a Shining Example of DIY Diligence</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>
