Ever ordered a pizza and waited forever for it, only to finally get it inside and realize that it’s already cold? Designer Ying Hern Pow wants to eliminate that disappointment forever with the Cydecar pizza delivery vehicle.

The Cydecar is, as you might expect, a sidecar attached to a motorcycle. But it’s what is inside that counts. There is a mobile oven, a refrigerator, storage space, compressor, battery and a small preparation area all packed into the small sidecar chamber.

The concept would allow for a number of different scenarios. A pizza shop could fully bake the pizza and stick it in the courier’s mobile oven to keep it warm, or simply put it together at the shop and let it bake on the way.

A slightly more adventurous scenario would be using the Cydecar as a street food cart, parking it somewhere and baking up slices or whole pies. The designer even suggests preparing and baking orders for delivery totally within the sidecare, with no shop involved.

Three-wheeled auto rickshaws, or tuk-tuks, aren’t a common sight in America…but in other parts of the world, they’re everywhere. Typically, they are propelled either by cycling or by petrol or diesel fuel. Dutch company Tuk Tuk Factory has taken this unique type of vehicle and turned it into a fully electric food truck.

The E-Tuk Vendo seems to be the first electric tuk-tuk to be produced specifically for food service. The adorable vehicle is deceptively small; in its cargo area it sports a refrigerator, sink, plenty of storage and a counter that pulls out to become the working/selling area.

Operated by a lead-acid battery, the truck can go nearly 40 miles on a single charge. It is designed to be plugged in while it is stopped, both to recharge the battery and to power all of the internal systems. While stopped, the side panel lifts up and locks into place to become a lighted canopy.

After a hard day of street food sales, the truck’s battery fully recharges in about 10 hours. Dutch smoothie vendors Toeti Froeti received the first version of the E-Tuk Vendo, the saucy orange number pictured here. According to Tuk Tuk Factory, there is a huge demand for eco-friendly electric food trucks all over the world – and their particular type of truck inspires smiles in everyone who sees it.

Although we’ve seen plenty of cool art cars and vehicle conversions here, this converted 1969 Dodge Chinook might just be at the top of the heap. It started life as a cute but ultimately boring motor home. When Portland, Oregon design firm Von Tundra got their hands on it, they turned it into what is probably the most stylish mobile juice bar in the world.

The rolling juice bar is now known as Sip Mobile Lodge. It is not only a totally unique food truck that serves Portland’s thirsty juice fans; it’s also a comfortable and relaxing lounge where guests can simply hang out and sip their delicious drinks.

The use of wood, white surfaces and an abundance of natural light make the interior of the Sip Mobile Lodge feel much bigger than it actually is. Ample storage space for ingredients and tools means that the expansive countertops can be kept mostly clear, again increasing the visual space inside the vehicle.

After the conversion, the former mobile home is an unbelievably stylish place to chill, order up a tasty glass of juice and enjoy the feeling of being part of a really astounding recycling project.
