    <p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-14407" title="steel-wheel-bike-1" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/steel-wheel-bike-1.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="233" /></p>
<p>This definitely isn&#8217;t your ordinary bike &#8211; but is it art or is it a functional piece of transportation? Both&#8230;kind of. The <a href="http://www.toxel.com/tech/2011/11/11/bicycle-with-steel-wheels/">Two Nuns Bicycle</a> was created by designer Ron Arad to be auctioned off in a fundraiser for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Each wheel was lovingly constructed out of 18 connected strips of steel.</p>
<p><iframe width="468" height="238" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VlgCzE11asQ?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>As you can see in the video, it is possible to ride the strange contraption around. Possible, but not easy. The bumpy wheels look like they make the ride feel uphill at all times. Maybe if you&#8217;re looking to build up your leg muscles this bike would be the perfect solution.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-14406" title="steel-wheel-bike-2" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/steel-wheel-bike-2.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="595" /></p>
<p>The bike wasn&#8217;t actually meant to be ridden regularly. Although it is clearly fit to ride once in a while, it&#8217;s more a work of art than a mode of transportation. The delicate-looking patterns of the steel wheels would look perfectly at home hanging on your wall among other pieces of fine art &#8211; but would you be able to resist the temptation to take it down and ride it around?</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/wheels-of-steel-art-bike-is-bumpy-but-beautiful-ride/">Wheels of Steel: Art Bike is Bumpy but Beautiful Ride</a> first appeared on <a href="https://gajitz.com">Gajitz</a>.</p>

<p><!--wsa:gooold-->Riding a bike wherever you need to go is fun on its own &#8211; but turning your bike into a hobby horse sounds like even more of a good thing. &#8220;<a href="http://www.designboom.com/weblog/cat/8/view/11472/horsey-by-eungi-kim-seoul-cycle-design-competition-shortlist-revealed.html">Horsey</a>&#8221; was just one of over 3000 entries in Designboom&#8217;s &#8220;Seoul Cycle Competition 2010,&#8221; a design competition that asked designers to help remake Seoul as a more cycle-friendly city.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9928" title="horsey-bike-2" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/horsey-bike-2.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="223" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/horsey-bike-2.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/horsey-bike-2-300x142.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>&#8220;Horsey,&#8221; designed by Eungi Kim, is a fun way to make any bicycle more like a pet to care for and have fun with. The design consists of a kit of wooden parts that attach to any bike frame, transforming a regular bicycle into a fun horse.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-9927" title="horsey-bike-3" src="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/horsey-bike-3.jpg" alt="" width="468" height="350" srcset="https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/horsey-bike-3.jpg 468w, https://gajitz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/horsey-bike-3-300x224.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px" /></p>
<p>The designer&#8217;s intention with this project was to create a bike accessory that would make cycling even more fun. By transforming the bike into a pet of sorts, Kim believes that people will be more likely to take their bikes out and ride them more often. Whether we see cyclists riding around on horseys anytime soon remains to be seen, but we love the idea of personalizing bikes in such a fun, playful way.</p><p>The post <a href="https://gajitz.com/giddyup-custom-kit-turns-your-bike-into-a-wheeled-horse/">Giddyup!
