Some gamers are beyond careful with their vintage gaming gear, making sure that nothing ever happens to their classics. Then there are people like the guys behind the NES guitar: those who will gladly destroy a little piece of gaming history to make something even more awesome.

The fantastic mod is from GetLoFi, and it’s a totally real, fully-functional electric guitar. The inside of the console has been gutted and replaced with solid oak and a recycled guitar neck attached to the outside. So it’s not the best-sounding guitar of all time, but come on – it’s definitely one of the coolest looking. Sadly they’re all sold out, but there is always a chance the team will get their hands on more consoles in the future and make more of these awesome creations.
