No Smoking: Crazy Wood Bug Covered in 20K Oak Scales

It might look like a life-size replica of the iconic Volkswagen Beetle, but this highly unusual car is actually a fully operational Bug made mostly of wood. It was built by wood craftsman Momir Bojic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and took around an entire year to construct.

The amazing car is covered in approximately 20,000 slats of oak which resemble fish scales or roof shingles. Each one was precisely cut and affixed, giving the car a surprisingly elegant look.

The rest of the car is made largely of wood, as well: the hubcaps, dash board, steering wheel and body are all wood. Bojic says the car is a tourist attraction in its own right, drawing stares, comments and questions everywhere he goes.
