If you’ve caught Mad Men madness like it seems just about everyone has, you’ll love this unbelievable vintage-looking PC case made by Jeffrey Stephenson. Inspired by a design competition calling for imagined mid-century computers, Stephenson crafted the case in perfect retro style. It’s called Mid Century Madness, and it’s both a throwback to the distinctive furniture styles of the past and a home for today’s most ubiquitous office accessory: the PC.
The case is made of red oak plywood, birch plywood, and some other bits and bobs. They came together beautifully, resulting in a minimalist case that’s both perfectly appropriate for the 1950s-1960s and useful for the computer lover of today. The graceful lines hold up a floating top that would fit remarkably well into a 1950s office.
The top of the case features a vent and the bottom contains two exhaust fans, all of which ensure that the case won’t get too hot to actually sit next to. Stephenson doesn’t mention whether he won the competition, but it would be hard to imagine an entry more amazing than this one.
