Audi A1 or A3 owners now have the option of using an app to identify parts of their car. Created by Metaio, the app makers behind Ikea’s interactive catalog simulation, users point their cameras at certain parts of the car (buttons, knobs and even engine parts) for user information – a sort of virtual owner’s manual.
While we’re not so sure that anyone buying an Audi would have trouble knowing what each button or knob does, identifying parts of the engine could be helpful to less mechanically-inclined individuals. And the intuitive nature of the app will make it a continuously useful one among all the throwaways.
