Mind Playing Bricks: Geektacular Wigs Made of LEGO Blocks

We can’t remember ever thinking that it would be a good idea to make clothing or hair out of LEGO bricks, but maybe that’s why we aren’t artists. Dutch artist/designer Elroy Klee made these LEGO wigs for a decidedly odd but awesomely geeky photo shoot.

The project, called Mindplay: Bricks on Me, involved three female models wearing blocky, heavy-looking wigs of LEGO bricks. Surprisingly, they still manage to look lovely and stylish even with the unusual hairpieces.

Decked out in yellow, red and black blocks, the models are every LEGO geek’s dream. The wigs were constructed from real LEGO bricks and then carefully placed on the models’ heads to avoid breakage.

The artist doesn’t give any background information about just how heavy the wigs were or whether they were padded for the models’ comfort. It seems safe to assume that, although very cool looking, the models couldn’t wait to get them off.
