Apple’s public announcements have become streamlined, entertaining events that tons of people tune in to watch. But they weren’t always the modern, trend-setting spectacles that they are today. Once upon a time, this truly horrible promotional song was a part of a 1984 Apple dealer’s meeting.
We can’t really blame Apple – it was the 80s, after all. But this hilarious bit of Apple history gives a unique reminder of what the company looked like when it was still pretty new. It was played before Steve Jobs took the stage at an Apple dealer’s presentation in Manhattan to announce the Macintosh and the new generation of Lisa computers. Despite being an obvious ripoff of “What a Feeling” from Flashdance, the song in the video is annoyingly catchy, so watch at your own risk.
