One of the most common complaints about touch screens is that using them obscures the very display you’re trying to see and interact with. This prototype phone from Fujitsu and Japanese mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo boasts a transparent touch screen that can be used from both sides at the same time.
Touching the screen from the back lets you scroll and make selections from the back so that your hand doesn’t get in the way. Because both screens can work simultaneously, new games and very cool new gestures will be possible.
Fujitsu has no illusions about how ready this technology is to do to market. The prototype isn’t well lit and the screen is very small – both issues the phone manufacturer hopes to correct before taking this incredible phone to market.
