If you’ve wanted to hop on the e-bike bandwagon but were nervous about the price or distance range of available bikes, the Storm might be the perfect solution. Editor’s note: there is some controversy surrounding this campaign – as with all crowdfunding endeavors: buyer beware!

The Storm’s battery can take you about 30 miles, but thanks to a swappable battery system you can simply change out the battery when it dies. Each battery recharges in about 90 minutes, so even if you don’t have a spare you can get back on the road quickly.

A 380 watt, 36 volt direct-drive motor can get the Storm up to a top speed of 20 miles per hour. The throttle is a small thumb switch on the handlebar that makes controlling your speed simple.

Of course, you can always pedal the Storm instead of using the motor, which will let you ride for as long as your legs can handle the workout.

With a weight of just 45 pounds and fat all-terrain tires, the Storm is easily transportable and rugged enough to go just about anywhere. A price point of $500 makes the Storm the most affordable e-bike out there. An Indiegogo campaign for the bike totally smashed its $75,000 goal, having raised more than $2 million as of the time of publishing.

Wakeboarding typically involves standing on a board and holding onto a line that’s attached to a boat. It’s fun, but it requires at least one other person and that other person usually (annoyingly) insists on taking turns. The Radinn (radical + innovation) electric powered wakeboard lets you be as selfish as you want by eliminating the need for a boat.

Instead, the rider controls the on-board jet propulsion system with a handheld remote control. Since it’s powered by a lithium battery and not gas, the board is quiet on the water and makes riders look kind of like they’re surfing with no waves.

The board turns and moves in the same ways that a traditional wakeboard moves, but the rider is in total control of his or her speed and direction rather than relying on a boat. The handheld remote control has a tether, of course, to keep it from dropping into the water and stranding the rider.

Traditional wakeboard bindings and boots can be used with the Radinn, so you won’t even have to go out and buy all new gear. The board is lightweight and fits into a car or boat just like any other wakeboard. And in case you missed it in the video above (because you were distracted by the unreasonably gorgeous Swedish athletes), it handles like an absolute dream.

Most e-motorcycles have a very limited range, so they’re great for commuting but not so much for taking day trips.

The Johammer J1 is a huge step up from most other electric motorcycles in range: it can go up to 125 miles on a single charge. It’s able to achieve this feat by using a battery that is smaller than those in similar motorcycles. The Johammer battery pack is designed to be durable and efficient, with an expected life of four years.

Of course, the thing that most people will notice first about the Johammer J1 is that it’s quite nice to look at. The body brings to mind a classic Vespa while the futuristic front wheel looks like it belongs on the Batcycle. Starting out at just a bit under $32,000 US, the Johammer is relatively affordable compared to other motorcycle options.
