When Volkswagen asked people in China to come up with ideas for their ideal “people’s car,” one rose above the rest – literally. A young animation student submitted a design for a floating wheel-less car held above the ground by magnetic force. Her design was chosen to be fleshed out by Volkswagen and appears in the video below.

The video is entirely in Chinese, but even if you don’t speak the language the video is well worth a watch. It is hilarious and the special effects are so well done that you can almost believe this weird cheese-wheel car really did zip around the streets of China one day.
