Power is Time: USB-Charging Watch Needs No Batteries

Most watches don’t need their batteries changed very often, but when they do it can be a real pain to take them to a watch shop or jeweler to get the job done. The USB Watch concept uses your computer to keep your timepiece charged for a week at a time – no battery changes required.

The concept features a brightly colored band that hides the USB plug. The LED display gives you the time, date, and – with the press of a button – the current battery level. When your charge gets low, you just plug the watch into your computer and it syncs the time automatically while charging. This is the kind of simple, sophisticated design that we’d love to see on store shelves immediately.
